Who is it for?
Apprenticeships offer a vocational progression pathway that is of equal value to post-16 education. Apprenticeships are open to people aged 16-24, either in employed status or on placements with a weekly training allowance
Course Aims
Apprenticeships have been designed to help young people gain the practical skills and qualifications needed for them to be successful in their chosen job. The apprenticeship programme helps young people to develop in the workplace and demonstrate competence in certain work areas.
Pre-requisites.
All learners must be in employed status.
Delivery of Training
The Apprenticeship programme offers a flexible approach for training delivery.
Ø 1 to 1 tutorials with a competent industry expert
Ø Gathering of evidence to support learners competencies
Ø Observations of working practice
Ø Questioning to underpin knowledge and understanding
Ø Project work and assignments to complete knowledge based elements
Ø E-Learning courses to develop knowledge and understanding
Method of Assessment.
A portfolio of evidence produced over the duration of training to demonstrate learners’ competence in terms of skills and knowledge against agreed units. This will usually take place in the workplace using a diverse range of methods, including; questioning, project work, observation of working duties and evidence from the workplace
Examination and knowledge based elements, and assessment of project work for key skills
