Level 3 Award in Education and Training (QCF)
The Level 3 Award in Education and Training has been designed to provide an introduction to teaching for individuals who would like to work or currently work within FE Colleges, Independent Training Providers and/or Local Authorities. It can meet the needs of a range of trainee teachers, such as:
Learners are required to gather knowledge about the role and responsibilities of a teacher. During the course, they will be encouraged to develop skills which will enable them to plan, deliver and evaluate basic teaching and learning sessions. What are the entry requirements for this qualification? Learners must be aged 19 + and undertake a formal initial assessment for English, mathematics and ICT. How is it achieved? Learners must produce a portfolio of evidence that will meet the learning outcomes for the units that have been selected. They must also complete a practical assessment which consists of a 15 minute micro-teach session delivered as part of the programme, following which both tutor and peer feedback will be given. |
Level 3 Award in the Delivery of Conflict Management Training
This accredited qualification has been developed to meet the requirements of trainers who wish to deliver scenario-based conflict management training. Individuals taking this qualification will already have completed a training qualification, for example Level 3 or Level 4 Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector. This qualification is suitable for delivery across a wide range of sectors and is of particular benefit to those delivering training in a customer-facing role. It also meets the requirements of the Security Industry Authority for those delivering the licence to practice qualifications which include scenario-based conflict management training. Subjects covered include how communication can be used to solve problems and reduce the likelihood of conflict, factors that influence human responses in conflict situations and how to reduce risks. It also covers good practice to follow after conflict situations. Level 3 Award for Deliverers of Physical Intervention Training in the Private Security Industry
This accredited qualification has been developed for those wishing to teach physical intervention skills to people working in the private security industry. Subjects covered include the legal and physical implications of the use of physical interventions, how to reduce the risk of harm, how to use non-pain related physical skills to protect yourself and others and non-restrictive and restrictive skills.
