You will be placed on a shift when you are rostered in Green. The pink days are your scheduled days off
2. What are the shift times like?
12 hour shifts, normally from 08:00 to 20:00 or 20:00 to 08:00 but they could vary
3. What's the furthest I will have to travel?
We operate throughout South Yorkshire and North Nottinghamshire currently so it could be anywhere.
4. Is there a probationary period?
Yes, this will be for 3 months, during this period the pay will be £13.00 per hour.
5. I cant make the Physical intervention training on the Friday you have provided, are there other dates?
The courses are held every Friday, either at 09:00 to 13:00 or 13:00 to 17:00
6. How come I don't get an interview?
An interview doesn't always get the best out of people and sometimes people are good in interviews but not for the job. We start the process with our FAQ open forum to ask any questions specifically about the role that may not have been answered here to ensure the role is what you are looking for. We then add questions that are relevant to inform future staff.
Once you have followed the safer recruitment process, you will be asked to attend our physical intervention session which we use almost like an interview to find out more about you and if fit for role. You would then be placed on a shadow shift, then attend some safeguarding training, and then commence into the role
7. What if I attend the physical intervention training but then decide I don't want to continue with the role?
The job isn't for everyone and by conducting some scenario based training and trying to demonstrate what the role may consist of, it allows people to make a full judgement before accepting. This is the reason we hold our "interviews" this way to ensure potential employees are fully informed before coming onboard.
8. What if I am still unsure about the role after the training?
Not a problem at all, the grass isn't always greener on the other side. We would suggest to trial a bank shift to get a taste of what its like before leaving one job for another.
9. Is this a full time job?
Yes the role is full time, however we do offer bank/zero hours for those who dont want full time. The role may also involve working within our Secure Transportation division - https://www.securecareservices.co.uk/
10. Do I get paid for attending the initial physical intervention training?
No, this is your voluntary time for us to assess you and for you to assess us, however subsequent training will be paid. You will attend every other Friday during your probation period (24 hours) and once a month thereafter. Totalling 60 hours of training
11. Do you provide accommodation during the training?
No, however there are some rooms nearby that can be found on booking.com at reasonable prices

12. Is the job guaranteed after training?
No, so on the day listen and work hard. There are chances to come back and redeem yourself if you don’t pass, however you have to remember that we are almost doing a job that most people would expect the police to do so when someone is violent and aggressive towards us we have to be able to deal with that situation, that’s where most people fall down as they think is like what they see on a 999 programme 😉. However not all jobs are such high risk but that’s where complacency comes in and people switch off
13.Do we get a car allowance or mileage paid for work jobs if I have to travel distances of 50 miles or more in my own car?
Yes, any mileage accumulated over 50 miles can be claimed back at 30p per mile
14. How much notice do we get for our working shift pattern?
The shift pattern is shown in question 1 above, as a general rule you remain on this pattern throughout.
15. Are there options for pay rises doing job?
Yes, the progression routes are annual increase in salary based on annual appraisals and of course by changing to a senior role.
16. What are the pay rates?
(Based on 40 hours)
Hospital Security Officer - £13.00 per hour / £520 per week / £27,040.00 per annum
Senior Hospital Security Officer - £14.00 per hour / £560 per week / £29,120.00 per annum
Senior Supervisor - £15.00 per hour / £600 per week / £31,200.00 per annum
In addition, an annual increase of 1% minimum and your birthday off! after a years service
17. I don’t drive so would that be a problem? Also can you choose to work day shifts or night shifts or do you have to do both shifts as I don’t want nights?
Driving isn't an issue but you may find it difficult to get to venues. The full time rota includes both days and nights so if you cant do one or the other the best option would be to join our bank/zero hours team
18. Does the role allows visa-sponsorship?
Im afraid we dont off visa sponsorship
